These lights project a huge cross in the sky which can be seen as far as Puerto Rico. The Dominican Republic's Carnival and July's Merengue Festival are both held here, and with its colorful and lively atmosphere full of hot Latin beats, many describe it as an open-air disco. More than Just TapasOne of the most prestigious restaurants in the Caribbean, Lina Restaurant offers international cuisine, with an emphasis on Spanish dishes. This modern restaurant was originally opened by Spanish-born Lina Aguado, who originally came to Santo Domingo as the personal chef of the dictator Trujillo.
